Last updated: 24 October 2026
Who we are
Be Protected Yachting is operated by BE PROTECTED GLOBAL PTE. LTD., a company registered in Singapore (UEN 202629155G), 36 Robinson Road, #20-01, City House, Singapore 068877 (the “Company”, “we”, “us”).
This notice describes how we handle personal data in connection with beprotectedyachting.com, enquiries and our consultancy services.
Contact and Data Protection Officer
Our designated Data Protection Officer is Thomas Sabatier. For privacy enquiries, requests or complaints, contact bpg@beprotectedglobal.com.
General service enquiries may be sent to bpy@beprotectedyachting.com.
Information we collect
We may collect names, business and contact details, enquiry contents, vessel or marine insurance requirements, correspondence, quotation preferences and relevant client or policy administration information, together with your email address if you subscribe to our newsletter, and technical information needed to operate and secure the website.
How we receive information
We receive information when you complete our website forms (including the newsletter form), contact us by email or messaging, interact with our team or provide information needed for a quotation or ongoing service. Information may also be received from relevant insurers or intermediary partners in connection with your enquiry or policy.
Crew information and medical data
We may receive information relevant to a vessel, its operation and crew insurance requirements. We do not routinely request or collect medical information about crew members. Individuals should provide any medical details required for underwriting directly to the insurer or its authorised secure channel.
Purposes of processing
We use personal data to:
- respond to enquiries and assess quotation requirements;
- compare available options;
- coordinate with insurers or authorised partners;
- administer relationships and communications;
- address complaints and maintain records;
- send our newsletter to people who have subscribed to it;
- protect our systems;
- meet legal or regulatory obligations.
Legal basis and consent
Where Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) applies, we handle personal data in accordance with the applicable notification, consent and other statutory requirements and exceptions. Where another privacy regime applies, we rely on the appropriate lawful basis for each processing activity.
A request for a quotation is not, by itself, consent to unrelated marketing. You receive our newsletter only if you have subscribed to it.
Sharing information
We may share relevant information with insurers, authorised intermediary partners, IT hosting and communications providers, CRM and email service providers, professional advisers, and authorities where legally required.
The information shared depends on the specific enquiry and partner; your contact details are not necessarily shared with every insurer. We require appropriate handling of information by recipients where applicable.
Systems and storage
Enquiry and client information is handled through Salesforce and our business email accounts. The website is hosted by Hostinger. Newsletter subscriptions are recorded in our website system and forwarded to our business email.
International transfers
Our services and technology providers may involve processing in more than one country. We assess cross border transfers and apply the protections required by law.
Retention
Under our internal retention policy:
- records of prospects who do not become clients are generally reviewed 24 months after the last meaningful interaction;
- former client records are generally retained for seven years after the relationship ends;
- newsletter subscribers’ email addresses are kept until they unsubscribe,
unless applicable law or justified legal requirements require otherwise. Retention is reviewed quarterly. We delete or anonymise data when it is no longer necessary, subject to lawful exceptions and backup schedules.
Security
We use organisational and technical safeguards appropriate to the information and systems involved, including controlled access and authorised handling procedures. No transmission or storage method is entirely risk free. Please avoid sending sensitive documents through ordinary contact forms.
Your privacy choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to request access to or correction of your personal data, withdraw consent, object to certain uses, request deletion or make a complaint, including to a data protection authority such as Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Commission. These rights may be subject to exceptions and legal retention requirements.
Contact our Data Protection Officer for assistance.
Newsletter and marketing
If you subscribe to our newsletter through the form on our website, we use your email address to send you marine insurance guides, boating tips and important updates. Subscribing is optional and is based on your consent.
You can unsubscribe at any time by writing to bpy@beprotectedyachting.com. We then stop sending you the newsletter and remove your address from our mailing list. We do not share your email address with third parties for their own marketing.
We do not currently use a dedicated email marketing platform. If this changes, we will update this notice and name the provider.
Service communications about an existing enquiry are distinct from unrelated marketing.
Cookies and similar technologies
The website may use technical storage or cookies needed for it to function. Any analytics, advertising or third party tracking technologies will be accurately disclosed in this notice if enabled. We will update this notice if our use of such technologies changes.
Third party websites
Our website may link to third party sites, including insurers and messaging providers. Those organisations process data under their own notices. Please review their policies before submitting information to them.
Children and dependants
Where enquiries concern children or dependants, the person providing their information should have the necessary authority and provide only the information reasonably required for the insurance enquiry.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice to reflect changes in our practices, technology or legal requirements. The current version and revision date are displayed on this page.
