From Indonesian waters to worldwide navigation
Be Protected Yachting did not begin as a separate insurance business. It began with a simple need from our clients.
Through Be Protected Indonesia, we started assisting owners looking to insure Indonesian flagged boats navigating throughout the Indonesian archipelago.
What began with a small number of marine risks quickly developed into something much broader.
We started receiving requests for vessels with different profiles, different ownership structures, different flags and increasingly international cruising areas.
Owners were no longer asking us only about Indonesia. Their boats were navigating across Southeast Asia, the Indian Ocean, the Mediterranean, the Pacific and beyond.
Marine insurance is international by nature.
A boat can be registered in one country, owned through a company in another, managed somewhere else and navigate through several jurisdictions during the same year.
It became clear that our marine activity needed a dedicated structure built around that reality.
In 2026, Be Protected Yachting was created as the specialist international marine insurance division of Be Protected Group.
Built from the experience developed through Be Protected Indonesia, BPY combines marine insurance expertise, independent advice and access to insurance markets across multiple jurisdictions.
Today, our approach combines the expertise of a marine insurance specialist with an international understanding of yacht ownership, navigation and complex maritime risks.

Loris Stratigéas
Marine insurance specialist
Loris Stratigéas is a Marine Insurance Specialist with a background combining maritime law, insurance and complex yacht claims.
He studied business law and maritime law in France, graduating top of his class from Aix Marseille University, before pursuing further studies in Maritime Law at the University of Southampton.
His professional experience has been strongly focused on marine insurance and claims, including several years handling complex and highly complex yacht and transport losses for major international insurers and specialist firms in France and the United Kingdom.
Today, this combination of legal training, technical claims experience and international exposure allows him to approach marine insurance with a practical and highly specialised understanding of vessels, risks and policy wordings.
